Ian Butler

Ian Butler has extensive work experience in software engineering and development. Ian currently holds the position of VP of Software Engineering at Pillr since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Novacoast for 15 years, starting as a Developer in 2007 and later becoming a Senior Developer in 2016. At Novacoast, their responsibilities included designing, architecting, and implementing complex software solutions for various applications. Ian also provided project planning, team mentorship, and dev-ops support. Additionally, Ian was part of the Novacoast Attack Team, where they conducted penetration tests and application security assessments. Before joining Novacoast, Ian worked at UCSB as an Application Developer and also provided user support for the university's student email system at the U-Mail Help Desk.

Ian Butler attended UC Santa Barbara from 2003 to 2007. Ian completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science during this time. In November 2012, they obtained a certification in SSE Symantec Control Compliance Suite 11.0 from Symantec.
