Philip Perry has a long and varied work experience. Philip has been a Research Fellow at Ulster University since 2019. From 2012 to 2019 they were a Senior Research Fellow at the Radio and Optical Comms Lab, working on multi-carrier optical transport systems. From 2011 to 2012 they were the Director, including CEO and Secretary, at Pilot Photonics, offering a range of Optical Wavelength Comb Sources to the telecommunications market. From 2012 to 2019 they were also a Senior Research Fellow at the Performance Engineering Lab, working on a wide range of projects. From 2006 to 2012 they were a Senior Research Fellow at the Radio and Optical Comms Lab at DCU, developing novel networking systems. From 2001 to 2006 they were a Senior Research Fellow at the Performance Engineering Laboratory, working on wireless mesh networking and the impact of network impairments on a user's Quality of Experience. From 2005 to 2009 they were a Consultant at Perryradio and Chief Scientific Officer at Adaptive HVM Ltd. From 2005 to 2004 they were a Technology Transfer Officer at CTVR, building links between industry and academia, developing IP management processes, and moving research towards commercialisation. Finally, from 2004 to 2005 they were a Director at QoSTech.
Philip Perry obtained their B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Strathclyde between 1983 and 1987. Philip then went on to complete their M.Sc. in Microwave and RF Engineering at the University of Bradford between 1987 and 1988. Finally, they obtained their Ph.D. in Microwave Engineering from University College Dublin between 1992 and 1997.
