Mead Mier-Welborn

Mead Mier-Welborn is an accomplished environmental planning professional currently serving as the Environmental Planning Manager for the Regional Flood Control District in Pima County since July 2025. Prior to this role, Mead worked for the Pima Association of Governments from March 2006 to July 2025, holding various positions including Planning Manager and Sustainability Coordinator, where responsibilities included managing watershed, environment, and GIS programs, as well as developing a regional green infrastructure plan. Previously, Mead contributed as a Research Associate at Northern Arizona University's Merriam-Powell Center for Environmental Research from 2002 to 2005, focusing on logistics coordination and historical data recording related to ranching management. Mead holds a Graduate Certificate in Conservation Ecology and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a focus on German Language, both from Northern Arizona University.
