Charlene Mortyn

Charlene Mortyn has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy sector. Charlene currently works at Pine Gate Renewables, where they started as a Project Manager, Development in September 2020. In this role, they successfully managed multiple solar projects, overseeing due diligence processes and coordinating with various departments. Charlene was then promoted to Senior Project Development Manager in June 2022 and later to Director of Project Development in October 2023.

Prior to their role at Pine Gate Renewables, Charlene worked at the District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) as a Program Associate - Solar for All. Here, they managed the low-income community solar program in partnership with the Department of Energy and Environment. Charlene successfully project managed 84 community solar facilities.

Charlene also worked as a Project Development Analyst at Empower Energies, Inc. from August 2017 to April 2019, where they gained experience in project analysis and development in the renewable energy sector.

In 2016, Charlene was a Venture for America Fellow, where they received training and professional development in entrepreneurship and startup ecosystems.
