Varun Varma

Varun Varma, CFA, serves as the Head of Strategy and Corporate Development at Pine Labs since April 2022, where responsibilities include refining digital payment strategies, executing M&A, and overseeing post-merger integration for Fave in Southeast Asia. Prior to Pine Labs, Varun held various leadership roles at PayPal from November 2018 to April 2022, focusing on international strategy for rapidly growing APAC and LATAM markets. Varun's career began at Citi, progressing through multiple roles in retail banking and wealth management after joining via the Management Associate program. Experience at McKinsey & Company as an Engagement Manager provided expertise in strategy and corporate finance, complemented by earlier work in equity research at Sanford C. Bernstein. Varun holds an MBA from London Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering from the National University of Singapore.
