Alan McCarthy has extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the IT service management industry. Alan co-founded Pink Elephant Ltd in 1991 and played a key role in the development of ITIL as well as the creation of the first ITIL training courses. Alan later joined PinkRoccade IT Management after Pink Elephant was acquired, where they managed the marketing and education divisions. In 2003, they left PinkRoccade and established Pink Elephant EMEA Ltd in the UK, focusing on IT service management training and consulting. Prior to their time at Pink Elephant, they held leadership positions at Protocol International Ltd and Infotech Operations Ltd, specializing in IBM systems training and technical training for computer operations. Their career began at British Aerospace Plc as an IT services manager.
