Chris Arkell has had a long and diverse career in the advertising industry. Chris began their career at Young & Rubicam in 1993, where they held various roles and managed accounts for clients such as Ford Motor Company, Lincoln Mercury, Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin, Ford CPO, and Ford Credit. Chris worked on global brand, national brand, national retail, and regional retail campaigns. Chris also led the Tier II Lincoln Mercury Dealer Association in New England and the Tri-State area, managed Lincoln Mercury USA Retail Operations, and played a key role in developing the USA infrastructure for Jaguar and Land Rover.
In 2005, Arkell joined 22squared as an SVP Group Account Director, where they oversaw client business and operations, with a focus on Southeast Toyota. Chris then moved on to Visibleworld Inc in 2007 as the Director of Automotive Sales and Business Development, where they worked with clients such as Chevrolet, Volvo, BMW, Chrysler, and others to introduce and manage addressable TV technology.
Arkell joined Autotrader US in 2008 as the National Accounts Sales Director, responsible for selling online advertising programs to OEM marketers and their agencies, with a focus on Nissan/Infiniti. Later that year, they joined Young & Rubicam again, this time as an SVP Group Account Director leading the NA Land Rover retail business.
From 2009 to 2010, Arkell worked at Gotham/IPG as an SVP Group Account Director, leading the agency's automotive category and contributing their expertise to pitches for prospective OEM automotive assignments. Chris then became the Managing Partner and Director of Client Services at Elevator - Chicago, a specialty boutique agency focused on retail automotive, where they provided client leadership for Honda and Acura retail Tier II advertising.
In 2013, Arkell joined Edmunds.com as a Client Account Director, responsible for managing the business relationship with Edmunds.com and specific automotive OEM clients, providing upfront recommendations, structuring and negotiation, campaign and revenue management, and reporting based on Edmunds data.
From 2015 to 2016, Arkell served as the Vice President of Automotive Sales at Liquidus Marketing, overseeing the NA automotive vertical and working with national, regional, and local automotive advertisers and agencies to optimize retail interaction online through data-driven solutions.
Most recently, Arkell has been working at Pinnacle Advertising, where they have held several key roles. Chris started as the EVP - Operations Director from 2016 to 2017, partnering with the CEO and executive team leads to improve company operations, talent management, and technology. Chris then became the EVP and Managing Director for the agency's East Coast presence, overseeing the Honda T2 client business, diversified retail, and new business development. Currently, they serve as the Chief Strategy Officer, leading the agency's client strategies and insights for diversified retail category brands.
Chris Arkell attended Wylie E. Groves High School for an unspecified period of time.
