Randy Thoma

VP, QA, RA & Product Development at Pinnacle Transplant

Randy Thoma is the Executive Vice President for Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and New Product Development. His focus at Pinnacle is to make “Best in Class” a habit through compliance and systemic improvement.

Prior to joining Pinnacle, Randy led VeeSquared Consulting Services and was an inspector for the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). Randy served as the Associate Director of Quality Assurance for Zimmer Biologics. Prior to Zimmer, Randy had a twenty-year career with Sulzer Carbomedics, with primary focus on the Validation and Quality Systems on the mechanical heart valve. Randy is a past-Chair of the AATB Accreditation Committee. He is also the principal author and technical contact for the ASTM "Guide for Validating Cleaning Processes used during the Manufacture of Medical Devices".

Randy earned a PhD in inorganic chemistry from Texas Christian University and a BS from Texas Lutheran College.
