Joël Erwteman

Joël Erwteman is the current Legal Director at Pinsent Masons. Joël was previously an Associate at Clifford Chance LLP from November 2011 to June 2017, where they worked in ECM, Private Equity & General Corporate. Prior to that, they were Senior Counsel at Boekel De Nerée from November 2009 to November 2011, where they advised on the disposal of BBned for Telecom Italia; the IPO of AFI Europe; the acquisition of Nebus Loyalty for Invision; and general corporate advice. Joël was also an Associate Corporate at Allen & Overy from August 2000 to September 2009, where they advised several clients (Bencis, KPN. Gasunie, Leaseplan) on corporate law with a focus on M&A and general corporate advice. Joël was a member of the works council. From September 2017 to January 2022, they were a Senior Associate at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek. Joël was also a free-lance lawyer from June 2017 to September 2017 and a student assistant at the Institute for Information Law (University of Amsterdam) from September 1998 to March 1999. Joël began their career as a clerk at the Court of Appeals Amsterdam from February 1998 to July 1998 and as a student intern at Nauta Dutilh from June 1997 to July 1997.

Joël Erwteman has a degree in law from Columbia Law School and a Meester in de Rechten (J.D.) from the University of Amsterdam. Joël also spent a year as an exchange student at Columbia Law School. In addition, they have studied Talmudic Studies at Yeshivat Har Etzion and attended Vossius Gymnasium.
