Kim McClure

VP of Chemistry at Pinteon Therapeutics

Kim McClure, Ph.D., joined Pinteon in 2018 as senior director of chemistry. Prior to Pinteon, Kim was a senior director at Pfizer for 23 years. In the medicinal chemistry department at Pfizer, Kim worked across a range of therapeutic areas including inflammation, cardiovascular, metabolic and rare disease. His research experience spans target classes from enzymes, GPCRs and transporters to RNA and eukaryotic ribosomes with modalities that include small molecules, peptides and oligonucleotides. He was responsible for the management of a group focused on external research collaborations across rare disease areas such as hemophilia, sickle cell disease and ALS. He contributed to scientific proposals that formed the basis for multi-year collaborative research agreements with the University of California, San Francisco and the University of California, Berkeley and was an active member of the Wave Life Science research collaboration. He received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
