Faisal Farooq is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and AI. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Engineering at Pinterest, Faisal has held significant roles within the Association for Computing Machinery, including Chair for Sponsorships, Applied Speakers, and Health Day at the KDD conference. As the Founding Director of the Kashmir Education Initiative, Faisal has been instrumental in education initiatives. Previously, Faisal contributed to LinkedIn as Director of Engineering in AI and led Health AI at the Qatar Computing Research Institute. Faisal holds a PhD and MS in Computer Science & Engineering from the University at Buffalo, conferred in 2008 and 2004, respectively.
