Demetrius S.

Demetrius S. has extensive work experience in software engineering, with a focus on AWS cloud technologies. Demetrius started their career at State Farm in 2015 as a Systems Intern, where they developed web applications using Java and Spring framework. In 2016, they worked as an Application Developer Intern at Allstate Northern Ireland, gaining experience in responsive NodeJS web applications.

Demetrius then joined Arizona State University in 2013 and held multiple roles, including Programmer in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, where they developed Java pipelines and RESTful web services for processing and analyzing viral data. Demetrius also created web applications using NodeJS and AngularJS for public health officials and researchers. Additionally, they worked as a Research Technology Support and as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the university.

In 2017, Demetrius joined GoDaddy as a Software Development Engineer. Throughout their tenure, they worked their way up from Software Development Engineer I to Software Development Engineer IV. Demetrius'sresponsibilities included designing and implementing AWS architectures, creating internal AWS orchestration tools, and leading Agile ceremonies as a Scrum Master. Demetrius specialized in containerized microservices running on ECS Fargate and EKS.

Currently, Demetrius works at Pinwheel as a Senior Software Engineer and is responsible for driving best practices and architecture design. Demetrius will soon transition to the role of Staff Software Engineer.

Demetrius S. pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering) from 2013 to 2017 at the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. Following this, from 2020 to 2021, Demetrius completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the W. P. Carey School of Business – Arizona State University.

In addition, Demetrius acquired several certifications. In May 2019, they obtained the AWS Certified Security – Specialty certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). In March 2020, they obtained the AWS Certified Developer – Associate certification, also from AWS. Furthermore, in May 2020, they achieved the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification. Most recently, in August 2022, Demetrius obtained the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer certification from The Linux Foundation.
