Alex Monney

Alex Monney has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Alex is currently serving as the Head of Platform Engineering at Pirum since March 2022. Previously, they worked at Broadbean Technology, where they held the positions of Chief Information Officer from November 2017 to March 2022, and Chief Technology Officer - EMEA from July 2014 to November 2017.

Before that, Alex worked at NET-A-PORTER.COM, where they started as a Perl Developer in April 2009 and later became the Warehouse Systems Manager from March 2011 to July 2014. In this role, they managed a team of Perl developers responsible for the company's Warehouse Management System. Alex was also the Technical Owner of these systems, ensuring their scalability and reliability.

Prior to NET-A-PORTER.COM, they had a brief role as a Contract Perl Developer, where they redesigned and re-engineered the front-end layer of a new in-house product management application.

Alex also worked at Deutsche Bank as a Contract Web Developer from April 2008 to December 2008 and at Fotango as a Web Developer from August 2000 to December 2007.

Alex Monney attended the University of Liverpool from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained an Mphys degree in Physics. In terms of additional certifications, Alex obtained the following:

- In September 2018, they became an ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Implementer (CIS LI) from IBITGQ.

- In July 2018, they became an ISO27001 Certified ISMS Foundation (CIS F) from IBITGQ.

- In May 2017, they obtained the EU General Data Protection Regulation Foundation certification from IBITGQ.

- Also in May 2017, they received the EU General Data Protection Regulation Practitioner certification, also from IBITGQ.
