Vasco Horta has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Vasco started their career as an Artworker at Euroscanner Ltd in 1993, where they built artwork for various print materials. Vasco then worked as a Graphic Designer at S.G.I. - Silver Graphic Ink, proficient in various design applications and responsible for creating print-ready artwork.

In 2005, Vasco worked as a self-employed Graphic Designer, taking on freelance projects. Vasco later joined LOVEFiLM in 2008 as a Perl Developer, revamping the allocations algorithm and improving customer satisfaction. Vasco then shifted to the BAU team, fixing bugs and collaborating with other teams to find solutions for system issues.

Moving on to Amazon in 2012, Vasco became a Software Developer Engineer. Vasco played a crucial role in migrating CS tools from LOVEFiLM to Amazon CS Central and ensured smooth operations for customer issues. Vasco also developed their skills in Java and utilized various tools and methodologies such as MySQL, Perl, Mason, Agile, and Java.

Finally, Vasco joined Pirum Systems Ltd in 2014 as a Developer/Tech Support/Integrations specialist. Their responsibilities included resolving tickets, integrating client systems into Pirum, and adapting to new production release rules. Vasco gained extensive knowledge of the system and became efficient at resolving code bugs.

Vasco Horta completed their education with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electronics Engineering and Systems at King's College London from 2005 to 2008. Vasco then pursued a Master's Degree in Computer Science at Birkbeck, University of London, from 2014 to 2016. In 2023, they also completed an online course called SCALA: FP-Tower.
