Kara Silbernagel holds extensive experience in public administration and environmental planning, currently serving as Deputy County Manager and Policy Manager at Pitkin County since January 2014. Previously, Kara worked as a Public Health/Geography Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Denver, focusing on the influences of social and built environments on neighborhood perceptions. Other notable roles include Environmental Protection Specialist with the National Park Service and Community Planning Intern at Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance, where significant research on community planning and demographic data analysis was conducted. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Colorado-Denver, as well as a Master of Science in Conservation Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. An undergraduate degree in Statistics was obtained from the University of Denver.
