Anders Larsson is a Professor of laboratory science with an emphasis on health economics at the Department of Medical Sciences. He heads a research group focusing on assay development and the use of avian antibodies and has published over 600 scientific articles. Prof. Larsson has been working with avian antibodies for more than 30 years and been involved in Swedish human treatment studies with avian antibodies (including phases I and II of the present anti-PA IgY phase III study in this application). Professor Larsson has been in charge of protein assays and the Clinical Trial Laboratory Centre, Uppsala (the laboratory is accredited according to ISO 15189). The laboratory has over the years been core laboratory for three major cardiology studies (Plato, Relay, and Aristotle). The total number of patients in these studies is approximately 50,000. Anders Larsson’s research group has a long experience of working with diagnostic assay development all the way to commercial products.
