Klaus Melakari

Klaus Melakari is the Co-Founder & CTO at Pixieray. Klaus was previously the Co Founder/CTO at Varjo, a company they helped create from the ground up. Prior to that, they worked as a Program Manager at Microsoft's Forward Labs and as Head of Computational Vision Systems and Head of System Design in Mobile Phones business unit at Nokia. Klaus started their career as a Research engineer/project manager at VTT Electronics in 1995. Throughout their career, Klaus has been involved in a variety of projects related to sensors, developer experience, display technologies, and 3D graphics. Klaus is an expert in technology management, technology development, and standardization, and has led teams in these areas for both Microsoft and Nokia. Klaus is also well-versed in funding and steering multi-million euro external research projects and has organized standardization work critical for UI technologies of mobile terminals (e.g. Khronos and MIPI). In addition to their work in the corporate world, Klaus is also an active member of the academic community and has published several papers on their research findings.

Klaus Melakari has a M.Sc in EE from University of Oulu and is certified from PMI in Project Management Professional.

Their manager is Niko Eiden, CEO. They work with Ari Pitkänen - Program Director, Ville Miettinen - Co-Founder & Chief Algorithm Officer, and Rebecca Xu - Co-Founder & COO.
