Nick Ching

Nick Ching has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Nick is currently the Head of Information Technology at PIX Moving, a position they have held since November 2022. Prior to this, Nick was the Director at Detour Tech Limited starting from February 2022.

Nick has experience in entrepreneurship as well. Nick co-founded LavaRadio in January 2012, a background music app that gained popularity and received numerous positive ratings. Additionally, they co-founded Royalyze Health Limited in March 2017, where they worked on improving medical technology and oversaw R&D, sales, and marketing functions.

As the Founder of Healthbok Healthcare from June 2015 to February 2017, they established health test services in various pharmacy retail stores and developed electronic health records for hundreds of thousands of users. Before entering the healthcare industry, Nick held significant positions in the media and technology sectors. Nick was the Vice President, China at The New York Times from January 2012 to June 2015, responsible for product design, development, and the launch of the Chinese website. Nick also served as the Tech Head of FTChinese.com at Financial Times from July 2007 to November 2011, overseeing operations, R&D, and IT functions.

Earlier in their career, Nick worked at Yahoo as an IT Manager, handling the system migration during the M&A between Yahoo and Alibaba. Nick was also the IT Manager at NetEase, overseeing the company's IT department and successfully leading the Call Centre project. Prior to that, Nick served as the OPS Manager at Lejie Network, focusing on system architecture, operations, and security for the company's SaaS Platform.

Nick Ching has a range of educational experiences. Nick studied Computer Science at Changsha University of Science and Technology from 1997 to 2001. In 2016, they attended The University of Hong Kong for a short period to focus on Data Journalism. In 2010 and 2011, they also had a brief enrollment at Longman Schools studying Market Leader. In addition to their formal education, Nick has obtained certifications in Machine Learning from Stanford University through Coursera in March 2017. Furthermore, they acquired a certification in Data Journalism from the University of Hong Kong and Google News Lab in March 2016.
