George R. Ward

George R. Ward is a Senior Advisor focused on Energy. He joined PJ SOLOMON IN 2016.

Mr. Ward has more than 20 years of energy investment banking experience advising on transactions with cumulative value of more than $40 billion. He advises clients on domestic and cross-border / international sell-side, buy-side, divestiture, merger, restructuring and capital markets assignments. He holds significant expertise in the upstream, midstream and utilities sectors.

Mr. Ward has advised on a number of transactions across the industry spectrum, including Canyon Midstream Partners sale of Pomelo Connector LLC to Spectra Energy Partners, ad hoc Committee of Equity Security Holders of Ultra Petroleum, Energy Transfers acquisition of the Transwestern Pipeline ($1.5B), Atlas Pipeline Partners sale of Laurel Mountain to Chevron (49% for $400MM), Cleco’s sale and privatization to a Macquarie led investor group ($4.7B), Southern Union and GE’s acquisition of Crosscountry Energy from Enron Corp ($2.45B), Southern Unions acquisition of the Panhandle Eastern Pipeline from CMS ($1.8B), Continental Energy Systems sale of New Mexico Gas Company to TECO Energy ($950MM), Semco Energy’s sale and privatization to Cap Rock Holdings ($870MM).

Prior to joining PJ SOLOMON, Mr. Ward was a managing director at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Company and co-founded the firm’s New York investment banking office. Previously, Mr. Ward was co-head of the energy group at Berenson & Company and a senior member of the Credit Suisse energy group.

Mr. Ward holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a concentration in finance and a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
