Jere Downs is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in writing and communications. Currently serving as a Senior Writer at PJM Interconnection since May 2019, Jere also operates Jere Downs, LLC as an Owner and freelance journalist. Previous roles include Communications Manager at Kroger and various positions at the Louisville Courier-Journal and Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK, culminating in a Senior Staff Writer position. Jere's early career included writing for the Philadelphia Media Network, serving as a Correspondent for The New York Times, and starting as a Copy Girl at the International Herald Tribune. Jere holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of Michigan. Additionally, Jere completed a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine focusing on obesity and public health.
