Nicolai Ørnstrup Pilehave has a strong background in risk management and finance. Nicolai Ørnstrup began their career as a student assistant at BRFkredit, where they worked under the Chief Economist from 1994 to 1997. Nicolai Ørnstrup then moved on to Eksport Kredit Fonden (EKF) as a student assistant in the Credit Department from 1997 to 1998.
In 1998, Pilehave joined PenSam, a Danish Financial Group, where they held multiple roles over the course of their career. Nicolai Ørnstrup started as a Portfolio Manager from November 1998 to March 2005, then worked as a Risk Manager from April 2005 to August 2006. From September 2006 to September 2012, they served as the Head of Risk Management, responsible for establishing a state-of-the-art Risk Management Function and building a consistent risk management system.
In 2012, Pilehave joined Nordea Liv & Pension as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), where they were responsible for establishing a State-of-the-art Risk Management Function. Nicolai Ørnstrup held this role until May 2016.
Currently, Pilehave serves as the CFO / Finansdirektør at PKA Ltd., one of the largest pension service providers in Denmark. In this role, they manage assets on behalf of the individual pension fund based on the investment policy stipulated by the board of each one.
Nicolai Ørnstrup Pilehave's education history started with their completion of the Folkeskoleeksamen, or high school degree, at Kildegårds Gymnasium in 1988. Nicolai Ørnstrup then went on to earn their Studentereksamen, which is equivalent to a college degree, at Virum Gymnasium from 1988 to 1991. In 1991, they obtained a college degree in France from Lycée Les Eaux Claires. Subsequently, they enrolled at Københavns Universitet, also known as the University of Copenhagen, where they pursued an MSc. in Economics (cand.polit.) from 1992 to 1998.
