Jennifer Smith

Jennifer Smith is an experienced Youth Services Librarian currently at the Plainfield Public Library District since May 2017, specializing in readers advisory, reference, tech assistance, and collection development while also planning and running various library programs. Prior roles include an internship at The Urbana Free Library, where Jennifer focused on readers advisory and program assistance, and a position as a Library Technician at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, managing cataloging and interlibrary loan requests. Early experience includes working at the Champaign Public Library as a Library Page and providing childcare services. Jennifer holds a Master of Library & Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Drama, Gender Studies from Indiana University Bloomington.
