Thais Paiva

Thais Paiva has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Thais started their career as a Foreign Rights and Acquisitions Intern at Editora Sextante in 2009 and worked their way up to become an Acquisitions Editor. During their time at Editora Sextante, Thais was responsible for selecting books to be published and also had various other responsibilities within the publishing industry. In 2017, they co-founded Pretexto - Tradução & Afins, a translation and education startup, where they worked as a Co-Owner. Thais gained experience in teaching translation and also had hands-on experience in areas such as branding, management, finance, and marketing. In 2021, they left the company and moved to Germany. Thais also worked as a Freelance Translator at Reverb Localization - A Keywords Studio from 2017 to 2022. Thais had the opportunity to work on game localization and learned to use CAT tools while working on remote project-based teams. Prior to that, Thais worked as a Translator, translating a variety of texts including books, games, legal agreements, software, websites, resumes, and more. Thais also had experience as a consecutive interpreter on several occasions. Currently, Thais is working as a Teaching Assistant at Le Wagon, where they provide support in the educational field. In 2023, they will be starting a role as a Junior IT Project Manager at Plan.Net Group.

Thais Paiva earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication - Publishing from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, attending from 2006 to 2010. Thais then pursued a Postgraduate Degree in Language Interpretation and Translation at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro from 2011 to 2012. In 2022, they completed a program at Le Wagon, specializing in Full Stack Web Development with a focus on Product and Software Development. Additionally, they attended the ReDI School of Digital Integration in the same year, although the specific degree and field of study are not provided.
