John Lacour Cissp, Ccsp

John LaCour, CISSP, CCSP, M.S., has over 22 years of experience in information security. John is currently serving as a Sr. Information Security Engineer at Planet Home Lending, LLC. Prior to their current role, John worked at Simmons Bank, where they held positions as an Information Security Architect and Information Security Engineer. At Think Finance, they worked as a Sr. Security Engineer, providing security leadership, advising on regulatory guidance, and implementing compliance programs. Before that, John served as VP & Chief Security Officer at Colonial Companies, where they revamped security architecture and compliance strategies, and reduced security risks by 45% within two years. John also worked as an Information Security Officer at First Command Bank and as the Associate Director of Corporate Information Security at First Command Financial Services, where they built new security departments and advised on security standards. In the early years of their career, John served in the US Navy as an Associate Information Assurance Officer/Network Administrator, where they revamped network and endpoint security. John also co-owned their own company, LaCour & Courington, LLC. John has a background in systems engineering and education, having served as a Senior Systems Engineer at Infinity Data Systems, where they designed and maintained secure infrastructure, and as a Professor at Herzing University, where they implemented Microsoft Certified Training programs.

John LaCour, CISSP, CCSP, M.S, has an extensive education history. John received their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Statistics from the University of New Orleans, where they studied from 1991 to 1994. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science at the same institution, studying from 1984 to 1991.

In addition to their academic achievements, John LaCour has obtained several certifications throughout their career. John is a Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), certified by (ISC)², which they obtained in September 2020. John also holds the certification of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², which they obtained in June 2001.

Furthermore, John obtained the Operations Professional (Series 99) certification from FINRA in October 2012 and the ITIL Foundation in IT Service Management certification from the PEOPLECERT Group in December 2011. John also possesses the Microsoft Certified Trainer and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certifications from Microsoft, which they acquired in 1992 and 1991, respectively.
