Kristina Barkume

Kristina Barkume is a highly experienced professional specializing in product management, research science, and information security data science. As a Senior Product Manager at Planet since February 2023, Kristina contributes to delivering high-resolution imagery through the Pelican constellation. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Scientist and Technical Lead at Meta, where Kristina focused on machine learning and modeling for various impactful applications. At U.S. Bank, Kristina managed a data science team and led projects involving machine learning algorithms and data visualization for the Information Security organization. Earlier roles included Project Manager at NV5 Geospatial, Senior Scientist at Areté Associates, and Graduate Research Assistant at the California Institute of Technology, culminating in a PhD in Planetary Sciences from Caltech and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Reed College.
