Punarjay Chakravarty

Punarjay Chakravarty is an experienced Machine Learning Engineer currently serving as a Staff Edge ML Engineer at Planet since January 2023. Previously, Punarjay held the position of Technical Expert in Machine Learning and Robotics at Ford Motor Company from June 2017 to January 2023. A significant academic and research background includes a postdoctoral fellowship at KU Leuven from October 2013 to April 2017 and a Research Engineer role at SenSen Networks from March 2012 to September 2013, where Punarjay led a project on a mobile parking enforcement system utilizing computer vision. Earlier experience includes positions at NICTA and SenSen Networks focusing on algorithm development and intelligent video surveillance, as well as a visiting researcher role at the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Punarjay holds a PhD in Robotics from Monash University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Melbourne.
