Kylie McNaught

Kylie McNaught, MSW has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Kylie is currently serving as the Director of Public Affairs (TX) at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast since March 2023. Prior to that, they were the Executive Director at Harris County Democratic Party from November 2021 to April 2023. From January 2019 to January 2022, Kylie worked as the Legislative Director for Texas State Representative Jon Rosenthal at the Texas House of Representatives.

Before their role at the Texas House of Representatives, Kylie served as a Field Manager for Beto for Texas from July 2018 to November 2018. Kylie also worked as a Volunteer Coordinator and SEA Center Manager at NAMI Greater Houston from August 2017 to July 2018, and as a Policy Analyst at the Texas Legislative Study Group from January 2017 to June 2017.

In addition to their political and advocacy work, Kylie has experience in social services. Kylie worked as a Housing Case Manager for The Salvation Army from October 2014 to December 2016, and as a Front Desk Receptionist from December 2013 to September 2014. At The Salvation Army, they were involved in various tasks such as answering calls, providing information to clients, and assisting with administrative duties.

Before their work at The Salvation Army, Kylie worked as a Sales Representative for Republic National Distributing Company from February 2013 to December 2013. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at Natural Pawz from November 2006 to February 2013, including Nutritional Consultant and Retail.

Early in their career, Kylie also worked as an SAT Prep Teacher at Huntington Learning Center from November 2012 to January 2013. Through their various roles, Kylie has gained extensive experience in leadership, advocacy, policy analysis, social services, and customer service.

Kylie McNaught, MSW, has a diverse educational background in the field of social work and public health. Kylie obtained their Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Houston - Graduate College of Social Work between 2015 and 2017, specializing in Macro Social Work. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History at the University of Houston from 2010 to 2012. In 2011, they had the opportunity to study Spanish Language at the Universidad de Granada for a brief period.

Kylie has also pursued further education in public health. Currently, they are enrolled in The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health, working towards a Doctor of Public Health degree with a focus on Community Health Practice, starting in 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Kylie has obtained several certifications to enhance their skill set. Kylie completed a certification in Financial Coaching from the United Way of Greater Houston in June 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a certification in Motivational Interviewing from SEARCH Homeless Services in March 2014. Furthermore, they completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (200YTT) certification from Yoga Alliance in December 2013.
