Silvia Beltran, MPH has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Silvia most recently worked at Planned Parenthood Federation of America as the Associate Director of Bilingual Education. Prior to that, they held the role of Manager of Spanish Learning at the same organization.

Before joining Planned Parenthood, Silvia worked at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Silvia served as the Birth Justice Coordinator, where they coordinated and supported community organizing and mobilization efforts for the Birth Justice Defenders project. Silvia also worked as the Special Assistant to the Assistant Commissioner, Bureau of Maternal, Infant, and Reproductive Health, where they developed written materials, managed special projects, and represented the Bureau in various settings.

Silvia also has experience working at the Guttmacher Institute as a Research Assistant, primarily in field work. Additionally, they worked as a Lab Tech at The New School and held various roles as a Microbiologist at the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Silvia Beltran, MPH completed their Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Community and International Health from New York University from 2014 to 2015. Before that, they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology from The University of Texas at Austin from 2005 to 2009.

In addition to their formal education, Silvia has obtained several certifications. In April 2022, they became a certified Childbirth Education Facilitator through Cornerstone Birthwork Training. In June 2019, they completed the Family Centered Patient Advocacy Instructor training and the Family Centered Patient Advocacy Training from the Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy. In June 2018, they became a certified Chronic Disease Self Management Program Master Trainer, a Diabetes Self-Management Program Master Trainer, and a Tomando Control de su Salud Master Trainer through the Self-Management Resource Center. In September 2014, they completed the SOCIAL AND BEHAVIORAL RESPONSIBLE CONDUCT OF RESEARCH certification offered by CITI.

Additionally, they have completed various online courses through the USAID- Global Health eLearning Center, including Community Based Family Planning, Family Planning Counseling, IUD Course, and Postpartum Family Planning.
