We would like to add an experienced Assistant Project Manager to our team to work within the established culture and guidelines of the Company. Qualified candidates will have strong communication and IT skills, leadership potential and at least some prior experience managing challenging projects. 

Position Title:                             Assistant Project Manager

Reports To:                                 Project Manager and/or Construction Manager

Status:                                     Exempt

Required Experience:             2+ years

Salary Range:                            $85,000 to 115,000

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Participate in pre-construction activities as needed

  • Participate in meetings and communicate effectively with the client, architect, consultants, subcontractors, and inspectors

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules

  • Prepare project documents– client change orders, subcontracts, subcontractor change orders, meeting minutes, letters, memorandums, notices, etc.

  • Manage cost changes, track legitimate change orders requests, compile fair pricing for work and forecast financial results accurately

  • Review and expedite submittals and materials

  • Monitor critical material items and deliveries

  • Maintain quality control and production efficiency

  • Oversee that jobsite safety procedures are being followed

  • Provide feedback on production costs to the Estimating Department

  • Partner with project Architects in conducting market research for product design alternatives that fit project budget and design intent

  • Administer the design/procurement execution plan by engaging 2nd and 3rd tier venders, suppliers, subcontractors to prepare design and shop drawing submittals, RFI’s and submittals compliant with contractual project scope and potential cost saving design substitutions

  • Collect and organize market product literature, O&M manuals, RFI’s and submittals associated with design clarification and file data in CSI hierarchy compliant with project protocols

  • Administer BIM execution plans and ensure compliancy with design documents, continuous design updates and relevant field and/or clash detection data; incorporate RFI information into BIM models and update as required

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor college degree, in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Architecture is required
  • Advanced degree or training favored
  • Two years prior construction-related experience is preferred
  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge and experience with the following software and programs is required:
    • MS Project or Primavera 6 for project scheduling
    • Sage Timberline Estimating and Project Management and/or Procore for Construction Management
    • MS Office proficiency
    • On-Screen Takeoff - construction estimating and takeoff solutions for contractors
    • Precision - estimating software where we put all our estimate line items
    • Microsoft 365 – Outlook (email) and cloud-based suite of productivity application like MS Teams
    • Bluebeam – for PDF markup and collaboration tool
    • Docusign – Electronic signature and agreement
    • Zoom – online video communication
  • Working knowledge and experience with the following software and programs is preferred:
    • AutoCAD for schematic design and presentations and project layout
    • BIM for clash detection
    • V-Planner – knowledge in V-Planner (comprehensive solution for production planning and it supports the workflows of the Last Planner® System (LPS))
