Braulio Torres Beltran has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple sectors. In 2022, they became the Director of Impact and Learning at Nuup, a Mexican social enterprise focused on promoting sustainable and inclusive food systems. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2022, they worked as a Senior Consultant at the International Labour Organization, where they contributed to projects related to just transition, green jobs, and child labor. Braulio also supported the implementation of training programs on green jobs and just transition at the International Training Center of the ILO. In 2019, they served as the Scientific Committee Coordinator for the Congress of Food Justice and Sovereignity in the Americas, where they contributed to developing a framework to understand food systems for health. Braulio has also worked as an External Advisor at SEMARNAT in 2019.
Before these roles, Braulio worked as an SPURS Research Fellow in MIT's Department of Urban Studies and Planning from 2017 to 2018. Braulio was a Principal and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Director at Fundacion IDEA from 2013 to 2018. Braulio also worked as a Partner and Consultant at C230 Consultores from 2013 to 2018, where they led various evaluations and projects related to employability, social mobility, higher education, and diabetes management. Prior to this, they served as the Mexico Country Director at Innovations for Poverty Action from 2010 to 2013, managing a portfolio of impact evaluation projects across various sectors including microfinance, financial education, public health, and education.
Braulio's earlier experience includes working as a Project Leader at the Ministry of Social Development of Mexico from 2007 to 2008, where they focused on urban poverty programs. Braulio also served as an Advisor at the Governor's Staff Office, State of Puebla, Mexico from 2006 to 2007, where they contributed to poverty assessments, rural life evaluation, and the design of social policy strategies. Throughout their career, Braulio has demonstrated expertise in program management, impact evaluation, training, and research, particularly in the areas of sustainable development, social justice, and food systems.
Braulio Torres Beltran earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Universidad de las Américas Puebla between the years 2000 and 2005. Braulio then pursued a Master's degree in Public Policy at the University of Chicago from 2008 to 2010. Prior to their undergraduate studies, they attended Tecnológico de Monterrey for high school, where their field of study is unknown.
