Vincent Lagacé

Vincent Lagacé has a diverse work experience that spans over a decade. Vincent co-founded and served as the Co-CEO of Nuup, a Mexican social enterprise focused on promoting sustainable and inclusive food systems. At Nuup, they played a key role in launching and leading the organization since 2015.

Prior to Nuup, Vincent worked as the Mexico Country Coordinator at Root Capital, a nonprofit social investment fund. In this role, they developed financing strategies and collaborated with value chain partners, donors, and investors to enhance financial management capacities of rural grassroots businesses in Latin America. Vincent also oversaw regional financial advisory projects supporting smallholder farmer organizations in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.

Before joining Root Capital, Vincent worked as a Microfinance Associate at Développement international Desjardins (DiD), a leading organization in the microfinance sector. In this capacity, they conducted visits to farmer cooperatives in Burkina Faso, Mali, Tanzania, and Mexico to assess their financing needs. Vincent also contributed to the development of agricultural loan products in savings and credit cooperatives in Tanzania and Mexico and prepared market studies and business plans for new microfinance institutions in Africa and Latin America.

Vincent started their career as an intern at Fairtrade International, where they conducted research and prepared briefings on Fairtrade certification and its impact. Vincent also supported public relations, communications, and producer support activities.

Additionally, Vincent worked as an intern at Albright Stonebridge Group, where they prepared briefs and market research reports on business and political issues affecting clients.

Vincent Lagacé pursued their undergraduate education from 2002 to 2006 at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. During this time, they completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration and Management, with a focus on General studies.

After a brief gap, Vincent returned to academia and enrolled at the University of Ottawa from 2008 to 2010. Vincent pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Development during this period, expanding their knowledge in this field of study.
