Mary Thomas

Mary Thomas has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Mary began their career at AECOM as a Transportation Planner in 2009, before moving on to GeoStats as a Project Coordinator from 2007 to 2011. In 2018, they co-owned Maker Practice LLC until 2020. Mary then joined the Community College of Baltimore County as an Adjunct Faculty from 2019 to 2021. Mary's most recent positions include working at Platform.sh, where they started as an Analytics Engineer from 2021 to 2022, then became a Manager, Data from 2022 to 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Data Engineering & Analytics at Platform.sh.

Mary Thomas has a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Studies from the University of Minnesota. Mary then pursued a Master's degree in Transportation Systems Engineering and City & Regional Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they completed from 2007 to 2010. Recently, they obtained a Master's degree in Engineering Management from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, which they completed from 2023 to 2025. Additionally, Mary has a certification as a FinOps Certified Practitioner from the FinOps Foundation, which they obtained in January 2022.
