Michael Gummelt

Michael Gummelt has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Michael is currently the CEO of Plato since 2020. Before that, they worked as a Member at South Park Commons starting in 2019. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Mesosphere, where they played a key role in integrating Mesos with distributed systems such as Spark, Cassandra, Kafka, and HDFS. Michael was also the lead developer on the Mesos scheduler for Apache Spark. Prior to Mesosphere, they worked as a Software Engineer at Enthought in 2013, where they were the sole developer of GRiTS, a NoSQL store built on Postgres. In 2012, they founded Heap, and in 2011, they were the Lead Backend Engineer at a Mobile Payments Startup, leading a team, designing infrastructure, and focusing on security enhancements.

Michael Gummelt earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2011. Michael later pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at Stanford University in 2014.
