Platte River Power Authority
Darren Buck has extensive work experience in the power and transmission industry. Darren is currently the Director of Power Delivery at Platte River Power Authority, where they oversee the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric transmission and communication systems. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Transmission System Assets for RMR at Western Area Power Administration, managing a large team and being responsible for over 5300 miles of high voltage transmission lines and power substations. Darren also held various other positions at Western Area Power Administration, including Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Information Technology for different regions. Darren Buck started their career as an Electronics Engineer and has since gained extensive experience in the field through various roles and positions.
Darren Buck attended the Colorado School of Mines from 1990 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering. During their time at the same institution, they also pursued an Area of Special Interest in Environmental Engineering.
