Raph Koster

CEO at Playable Worlds

Raph Koster is the current CEO at Playable Worlds. Raph has held various positions at different companies throughout their career. Raph was previously the Chief Creative Officer at Sony Online Entertainment from June 2000 to June 2006. There, they were a creative consultant for internal titles and speculative tech R&D dept. Raph also did some business development and PR work. Raph then left to join Bit Fry Game Studios, Inc. as their Lead designer. In September 1995, they began working at Origin as their lead designer and continued to work there until June 2000 when they joined Sony Online Entertainment. In July 2006, they became the President of Metaplace, Inc. and held that position until July 2010 when they became the VP of Creative Design at Playable Worlds. Raph left that position in March 2013 and became an independent designer and consultant until they were hired as the CEO of Playable Worlds in 2018.

Raph Koster received their MFA in Creative Writing from The University of Alabama and their Bachelor's Degree in English (honors) and Spanish (honors) from Washington College.
