Johanna Fulghum has worked as an economist and software engineer since 2010. Johanna began their career as an Economist Intern at the Economic Research Service in 2010. Johanna then moved to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2011 as a Program Analyst, where they performed cost-benefit and quantitative analysis and managed budgets. In 2013, they joined the U.S. Coast Guard as an Economist and served as a lead economist responsible for benefit and cost estimation and quantitative analysis. In 2016, they moved to The Imber Group, Inc. as a Senior Economist, where they developed analytical techniques for economic studies and prepared regulatory economic impact analysis. In 2018, they joined Oscar Health as an Operations Engineer, Systems and Platforms, and later became a Tech Lead, Contract Configuration. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as a Back-End Software Engineer at PlayerLync.
Johanna Fulghum attended Virginia Tech and received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Johanna then attended George Mason University and obtained a Master's degree in Economics. In 2016, they enrolled in a part-time Data Science Program at General Assembly. In 2018, they completed the Grace Hopper Program at Fullstack Academy, a Software Engineering Immersive.
