Brian Derath

Brian DeRath is an experienced education professional currently serving as a High School Social Studies Teacher at Ionia Public Schools since August 2017. In addition to a robust teaching career, Brian has held various positions at New Balance Detroit, including Store Manager and roles in corporate training and human resources since July 2014. Brian is the President of Creative Solutions in Life, emphasizing a collaborative workplace culture. Previously, Brian worked as a Principal at Mt. Pleasant Public Schools and Williamston Community Schools, as well as a Teacher at Okemos Public Schools. Brian holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Michigan State University and degrees in History, English, and Advertising from the University of Colorado Boulder and Michigan State University, respectively.
