Lesley Wainwright

Lesley Wainwright has extensive experience in the legal field, specifically in distribution business and legal affairs. Lesley currently holds the position of Chief Legal Officer at PlayOn! Sports since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Warner Bros. Discovery as Senior Vice President, Distribution Business & Legal Affairs from April 2022 to October 2022.

Lesley'smost significant role was at WarnerMedia, where they were Senior Vice President, Distribution Business & Legal Affairs from June 2018 to April 2022. In this role, they led the Distribution Legal Affairs team and was responsible for negotiating and managing multi-platform distribution deals for various Turner cable networks and home entertainment content.

Before joining WarnerMedia, Lesley worked at Turner (Turner Broadcasting System, Inc) for over a decade. Lesley held several positions, including Senior Vice President, Distribution Business & Legal Affairs from November 2017 to June 2018, Assistant General Counsel from January 2016 to November 2017, Senior Counsel from August 2009 to December 2015, and Counsel from August 2005 to July 2009. Lesley led various legal teams, such as the Content Acquisitions team, Digital Rights team, and Copyright Registrations team, managing the licensing of content and clearing Turner content for digital platforms.

Lesley started their legal career at King & Spalding as an Associate in the Private Equity Practice Group from 2001 to 2005.

Lesley Wainwright pursued their higher education by first attending the University of Kentucky from 1994 to 1998. During this time, they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Following their undergraduate studies, Lesley Wainwright enrolled at Emory University School of Law for four years from 1998 to 2001, where they earned their Juris Doctor (JD) degree. No specific field of study was indicated for their JD program.
