Assaf Asbag

Assaf Asbag has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Assaf began their career in 2002 in the IDF, where they served as an Israel Defence Force Officer, overseeing a team of soldiers and deputies in a paratroopers' elite patrol unit.

In 2011, Asbag transitioned to Applied Materials, where they started as an Application Engineer and later became an Algorithm Developer and Team Manager for Machine Learning. During this time, they gained expertise in machine learning and led a team focused on developing algorithms.

Since 2018, Asbag has been working at Playtika, a gaming company. Assaf initially joined as the Data Science and Engineering Director, responsible for leading data scientists, technical product owners, data engineers, and software developers to deliver top-tier big data infrastructure and data science solutions. In 2021, they were promoted to Head of AI and Engineering, Sr. Director, and currently holds the position of VP AI and Engineering. In this role, Asbag oversees the delivery of innovative solutions, mentors and fosters the growth of a highly skilled team, and utilizes a diverse technical skill set to drive success.

Assaf Asbag completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev from 2008 to 2012. Following this, they pursued their Master of Science degree in the same field at the same university from 2015 to 2017.
