Dan Gelvan

Dan Gelvan has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Chief R&D Officer and co-founder at Pleco Therapeutics BV since 2018. Prior to this, they served as the Managing Director at Medtech to Business from 2007 onwards, where they focused on providing support and consulting services to the Bio-Medical industry. Dan also held the position of Director of Business Development at the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, they worked as an Advisor at the Alfred Mann Institute at the Technion - AMIT from 2015 to 2016. Earlier in their career, they established himself as the CEO and Founder of Sirius Implantable Systems from 2004 to 2014, where they specialized in miniaturized implantable cardiac devices. Dan was also the Application Development Manager at Remon Medical Technologies from 1999 to 2001, and served as a Medical Associate at Concord Ventures during the same time period. Prior to these roles, they held the position of Regional Manager at Medtronic International Technology, Research and Education Center (MITEC) from 1996 to 1999, where they established the development center for the development markets in Eastern Europe, Eastern Mediterranean, Gulf area, and Africa. Overall, Dan Gelvan has demonstrated their expertise in various areas, ranging from strategy and business development to marketing and research and development in the biomedical field.

Dan Gelvan completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Human Nutrition from Queen Elizabeth College, University of London, England, from 1979 to 1980. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Bioinorganic Chemistry from Hebrew University of Jerusalem Medical School, where they studied from 1982 to 1988.
