Daniel Talancon

Daniel Talancon is a seasoned mechanical design engineering professional with extensive experience in electro-mechanical systems and horticultural lighting technology. Currently serving as Senior Manager of Mechanical Design Engineering at Plenty® since November 2019, Daniel focuses on team development and the design of proprietary LED-based horticultural lighting systems for indoor vertical farms. Prior to this role, Daniel contributed to Plenty® as a Manager and Staff Mechanical Design Engineer, emphasizing energy efficiency and reliability in system designs. At Tesla, from February 2015 to October 2019, Daniel worked on charging systems for electric vehicles and energy storage, leading projects from conception to mass production. Daniel holds a PhD and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech.
