Michael Hopp

Michael Hopp is a partner in our Corporate and Compliance department and head of our personal computer team. Together with partner Henriette Stakemann, he also leads our team in Operational Compliance.

Since 2000 , Michael has worked extensively with the personal computer, which means that he has gained both a broad and deep experience in handling all types of personal data law issues. Michael is widely recognized as one of the leading Danish advisers in the field .

Michael is in great demand for his advice on the new privacy regulation, General Data Protection Regulation (gDpr), and advice on the consequences of personal regulation for private companies and public authorities. Michael has both a practice-oriented and holistic approach that always ensures a value creationcounseling.

Michael advises also on data security compliance projects, international data transfers, whistleblower hotlines, customer or employee data protection policies, employee monitoring and personal data protection related to US Discovery.

In addition , Michael has been instrumental in defining and designing several, larger compliance projects for large Danish companies. Thus, he has extensive experience in drafting Binding Corporate Rules (Binding Corporate Rules , BCR) and approving them by the Data Inspectorate. In the field of marketing , Michael has extensive knowledge of the data drive

marketing, and in particular, the commercial benefits of using data-driven marketing. Especially in relation to the dynamic interpretation of legislation related to the deployment of new and contingent technologies, Michael is a value-adding advisor.

Michael has a large network both nationally and internationally, which he actively uses for knowledge sharing and in solving specific tasks for clients. Michael is a widely used speaker in the field of personal data and marketing law .
