Tonio Idda

Tonio Idda is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in antenna and RF design, currently serving as a Senior Antenna Engineer at Plexus Corp., focusing on phased array antennas for space applications since November 2024. Previously, Idda held various positions, including Antenna Design Engineer at Alba Orbital, where responsibilities included designing compact and deployable antennas for PocketQube satellites and estimating satellite link budgets. Prior roles also encompassed positions at Sofant Technologies, specializing in Ka-band phased array antenna design and RF MEMS phase shifter characterization, as well as at DelfMEMS, concentrating on RF MEMS switches. Early career experience includes work at LAAS-CNRS in antenna and MEMS design, and at the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari, where RF receivers for the Sardinia Radio Telescope were developed. Idda holds a Master's degree in Microwave Electronics from the University of Cagliari.
