Joyita Roy

Joyita Roy has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Joyita is currently the Director of Program and Portfolio Management at Pliant Therapeutics since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Gilead Sciences from 2017 to 2021, where they held various roles including Senior Project Manager in External Innovation Strategy and Portfolio Management, as well as Strategy and Portfolio Management. From 2014 to 2017, Joyita worked at AstraZeneca as a Project Manager in Portfolio Management. Joyita also has experience as a Project Manager at Clarity Medical Systems from 2012 to 2013 and as a Biorepository Scientist at Roche Molecular Diagnostics from 2009 to 2012. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior QC Associate at Genentech Carlifornia USA from 2004 to 2007, and as a Process Development Associate at MedImmune from 2000 to 2004. Joyita Roy holds an MBA and a PMP certification.

Joyita Roy, MBA, PMP, completed their education at various institutions. Joyita obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business between 2002 and 2006. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (MS) in Microbiology, with a focus on Biotechnology, from Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Nanded from 1997 to 1999. Their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree was earned at Government College of Arts and Science in India from 1994 to 1997, majoring in Microbiology, General.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Joyita Roy also holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, which they obtained in 2012.
