Lona Poole

Lona Poole has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical development, starting in 1992 with consulting positions as a Medical Monitor at Bayer, Chiron Corporation, and InterMune. From 1998 to 2001, they worked as a Medical Consultant at Schering-Plough Research Institute. In 2001, they became a Medical Monitor for InterMune until 2004. Lona then joined Chiron Corporation as the Director of Clinical Research from 2004 to 2006. Starting in 2007, they worked at NCGS Laboratories as a Medical Consultant, where they served as a Project Physician for a clinical research study. In 2011, Lona worked as a Medical Monitor at Fibrogen, and then advanced to the position of Senior Director of Clinical Development and Executive Director of Clinical Development at FibroGen, Inc. from 2013 to 2023. Currently, Lona holds the role of Senior Director of Clinical Development at Pliant Therapeutics since 2023. Throughout their career, Lona has gained expertise in clinical development and medical monitoring.

Lona Poole has a degree in MD from the University of Zurich. Lona also holds an MD degree from the California Medical Board ('FLEX' Exam) and the U.S. ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates).
