Tara Janke

Tara Janke has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Tara is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Plooto, starting in 2022. Prior to this, Tara served as the Chief Technology Officer at Boast.AI from 2021 to 2022, where they focused on building the company's objectives and key results framework. From 2020 to 2021, they held the position of Vice President of Product Development at Promethean, where they oversaw hardware, software, and user experience.

Tara's earlier experience includes roles such as Senior Director of Engineering, EMEA at Avalara from 2015 to 2020, where they developed a strategic product vision and managed a team of 100+ employees. Tara also served as the Director of SaaS Operations and Quality Assurance at Avalara from 2013 to 2015, leading the restructuring of international QA and site reliability engineers. Prior to Avalara, Tara worked as a Management Consultant and Quality Assurance Architect at Genesys from 2012 to 2013, and as the Director of Engineering Operations at Cactus Commerce from 2009 to 2012.

Before that, Tara held the role of Director of Quality Assurance at Ubiquity Software from 2005 to 2009, establishing and managing a global team. Tara began their career as a Principal Software Engineer at Catena Networks from 1999 to 2005, and as a Software Engineer at Newbridge Networks from 1996 to 1999.

Throughout their career, Tara has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic vision, and the ability to drive productivity and success in various organizations.

Tara Janke obtained a B.A.Sc. degree in Electronic Information Systems Engineering from the University of Regina, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. In addition to their degree, they hold certifications as a Professional Engineer of Ontario from Professional Engineers Ontario and as a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.
