Sorin Adam Matei

Sorin Adam Matei is a highly experienced academic and professional with a focus on communication technologies, social organization, and collaboration. Currently serving as an Editorial Board Member for PLOS ONE since December 2022, Sorin Adam Matei also holds the position of Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies and Professor at Purdue University since August 2003. In addition, Sorin Adam Matei is the Founding Executive Director of FORCES and has been an Ideamonger at Ideagora, LLC since 2010, engaging in VR/AR publishing and mixed reality solutions. Sorin Adam Matei has previously contributed as an invited columnist for Foreign Policy Romania and managed a large-scale research project at the University of Southern California. Early career experience includes producing for BBC World Service. Sorin Adam Matei earned a PhD in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Southern California and two Master’s degrees from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in History and Philosophy from the University of Bucharest.
