Jeffery Collins

Jeffery Collins has over 18 years of work experience in various roles within the electrical and engineering fields. Jeffery currently serves as a Sr. Electrical Designer at Plug Power, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as an Electrical Designer at Plug Power from 2021 to 2023. During their time at Plug Power, they also worked as an Electronic Technician from 2020 to 2021, where they successfully helped the Electronics LAB team produce repaired Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and performed various tasks such as troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, and testing PCBA RMAs.

Before joining Plug Power, Jeffery worked at Red Lion Controls for over 12 years. Jeffery held the role of Sustaining Engineer from 2017 to 2019, where they provided critical support to the Ballston Lake Hardware Engineering team by managing and implementing part, drawing, and document changes. Jeffery was also responsible for the ECO process at the location. Prior to that, they served as an Electrical Engineer I from 2007 to 2017, excelling in tasks related to hardware and mechanical design processes, including product testing and building/modifying prototype PCBs.

Prior to their time at Red Lion Controls, Jeffery worked at Sixnet, where they held the role of Engineering Technician from 2005 to 2007, performing tasks to support hardware design processes such as pre-compliance product testing and building/modifying prototype PCBs. Before that, they worked as a Test Technician from 2003 to 2005, testing Ethernet Switch, Industrial Modem, and Industrial Automation products, and also providing engineering resources for pre-compliance testing. Jeffery briefly worked as a Shipping Clerk in 2003.

Jeffery Collins attended SUNY Schenectady County Community College from 1998 to 2003, where they obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Electrical Technology. In addition, they received a certificate in Computer Support Technology from Schenectady County Community College in 2003. Jeffery has also obtained several certifications, including Acrobat DC Essential Training, Visio 2019 Essential Training, Learning LabVIEW, Introduction to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and GD&T BASICS Fundamentals Course - Certificate of Achievement. These certifications were obtained from various institutions, including LinkedIn and GD&T Basics, with the most recent certification obtained in July 2021.
