Kristian Bainey

Kristian Bainey has a diverse and extensive work experience in project management and leadership roles. Kristian is currently working as an Adjunct Lecturer at MacEwan University. Previously, Kristian has held several positions at PMI Northern Alberta Chapter (PMINAC), including President, President Elect, Vice President of Professional Development, Director of Conference, and Director of Seminars and Workshops.

Kristian has also served as the Chief Executive Officer at K-PIC Systems Inc and as a Sr. Technical Program/Portfolio Manager at UMT360. In addition, they have worked as a PORTFOLIO & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT/IT MANAGER at Horizon North and as a PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT CONSULTING & TRAINING professional at K-PIC Systems Inc.

Prior to these roles, Kristian has also held positions such as IT DIRECTOR, PROJECT (PMO) at AUMA, SENIOR IT AGILE PROJECT MANAGER (Contract) at AMA - Alberta Motor Association, IT PROJECT MANAGER (Contract) at Alberta Health Services, and PROJECT TECHNICAL ANALYST (Contracts) at K-PIC Systems.

Throughout their career, Kristian has gained skills and expertise in areas such as project management, portfolio management, architecture management, applications management, operations management, governance, strategic planning, change management, and risk management. Kristian is highly experienced in implementing and maintaining project reporting tools and has excellent skills in various project management software.

Overall, Kristian's work experience demonstrates their comprehensive knowledge in project management and their ability to lead and manage teams effectively.

Kristian Bainey holds a Master's degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). They also received a diploma in Computer Systems Technology from NAIT. In addition, Kristian completed advanced postgraduate courses in Computer Information Systems at Nova Southeastern University. They recently attended the MIT Sloan School of Management for a short course on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Kristian holds multiple certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, Certified Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance, and ITIL certification in IT Service Management. They have also obtained certifications in change management from Prosci and value management from PMI Northern Alberta Chapter (PMINAC). Additionally, Kristian has completed various AI-related courses, including an overview of Generative AI for Project Managers from the Project Management Institute and a course on Making AI Work for Business and Society from MIT Sloan School of Management.
