Jamie Lawrence

Jamie Lawrence has over 20 years of work experience in the technology sector. From 1998 to 1999, they worked as a Software Engineer at Bluewatch, where they developed financial data-feed and calculation software for large investment banks in C++ and undertook on-site installations. From 1999 to 2001, they worked as a Senior Researcher at Broadcom Eireann Research, where they worked on several European research projects in the area of agent-based systems. From 2001 to 2007, they worked as a Research Fellow at Media Lab Europe, where they ported a Java-based agent platform to an embedded Java board and aided the creation of demo applications and visualisations in Java. From 2007 to 2014, they worked as a Software Engineer at IBM Tivoli Software, where they worked on large telecoms and business management applications. From 2014 to 2019, they worked as the CTO at WorkCompass, where they engaged with customers to understand their needs, envisioned the company's service offerings as a web-based business, led implementation of web applications, and planned for risk and growth. Since 2019, they have been the Chief Technology Officer at Podia.

Jamie Lawrence completed their BSc in Computer Science from The University of Sheffield between 1995 and 1998. Jamie then went on to pursue a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southampton, which they did not complete, between 2004 and 2006.
